Piano Aktivitys

This film documents the performance of an avant-garde Fluxus piano work by the internationally acclaimed artist Philip Corner. Piano Aktivitys as a Disciplind Destruktshun (a piano work’t), 2022 was performed on September 6, 2024 as part of the Fluxus in the Swamp exhibitions and performances organized by Billie J. Maciunas and Sean Miller.
Piano Aktivitys as a Disciplind Destruktshun (a piano work’t) is a 2022 iteration of Corner’s 1962 score Piano Activities. The original 1962 score was performed by Dick Higgins, Alison Knowles, George Maciunas, Nam June Paik, Benjamin Patterson, Wolf Vostell, and Emmett Williams during Fluxus Internationale Festpiele Neuester Musik, Hörsaal des Städtischen Museums, Wiesbaden, Germany September 1, 1962 This event marked the beginning of the Fluxus movement.
Piano Aktivitys was filmed at the Lyceum Auditorium at
Santa Fe College, Gainesville, Florida sixty-two years after the 1962 Wiesbaden performance.
